After a rough week, gained peace and perspective at Sunday mass in YVR, celebrating JPII's beatification. Lots of uplifting moments: It turns out that this church, Holy Rosary Cathedral, had hosted JPII in the 1980s; I witnessed a second wedding in 3 days when a Filipino couple celebrating their 50th anniversary renewed their vows; learned it was Divine Mercy Sunday and quietly wept when I heard the name Sr. Faustina; wept some more when the choir sang one of our Faustina's favourites, Ave Verum.
